Making your own large bows is easier than you think. Get started with any wire ribbon combination for the holiday of your choice from Christmas and Easter, to the 4th of July. Non- holiday themed Bows are great all year round, like popular bumble bee patterns. Large wire bows have so many applications from gates, to mailboxes to lamp posts, mantles, wreaths, doors and staircases.
Make your own custom bows and skip the overpriced bows at the craft stores.
4th of July Bow Decor
While you are learning how to make bows I recommend buying affordable wire ribbon sets from Sam's Club. All five color patterns came in this set from Sam's Club and that makes the ribbon pattern stacking easy.
Mother's Day Party Bow
Lemon yellow ribbon patters could be used all Summer long. Bows are a great way to welcome guest as they arrive to gatherings.
The Easy Bow Maker
Here I'm staking the ribbons with loops and tails into the wooden dowels of the easy bow maker.
The Easy Bow Maker is on the left, and the back of the bow shows the zip tie around the stack of ribbons. As you finish stacking the wire ribbon layers slide the ribbon stack off of the dowels and secure the center with a zip tie. Add a pipe cleaner to the zip tie before tightening it down on the ribbon stack.
Spread out all of the loops, and pull the tails forward.
Then fluff, fluff, fluff the loops!
Shop seasonal wire ribbons after the holiday is over to get the best discounts, or get wire ribbon sets from Sam's Club.
Don't use any other types of ribbon without wire, your bows will flop.
There is no pattern police so mix it up, but the colors within the ribbon pattern should coordinate with the other ribbon choices.
